Salisbury Macular Group request for 'leaders'
Members of the Salisbury Macular group are looking for a new Group Leader and Treasurer when the present holders retire at the end of September.
The group is run under the guidance of the National Macular Society in Andover.
We meet once a month, previously in the Baptist Hall in Salisbury, but recently in the Playhouse foyer.  Sometimes a speaker is invited.
There are about eighty partially sighted registered members, although actual attendance at meetings is usually between 10 and 20 members.
The Group Leader has the responsibility for contacting new members, organising and chairing meetings, finding speakers, being familiar with local sensory and medical services, sharing information from head office and generally supporting the National Society locally.
The present Group Leader and Treasurer have been in the posts for 12 years but will both be retiring on 27th September 2017.  At that point all records, including a healthy bank account, will be returned to the national office.
However, hopefully, there will be somebody prepared to carry on – and if so please get in touch with Judy on 01722 328695 who will be very pleased to answer any questions and give you all the information you may need.
