Anxiety and Depression Call to Action Event
A significant proportion of the demand for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Wiltshire appears to be made up of teenagers presenting with anxiety, low mood and depression. This event aims to bring multi-agency partners together to understand and discuss the potential causes and identify ways of responding locally.

The event will take place on 10 October at the Corn Exchange in Devizes, 9am till 1pm.

Happy Hearts Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise and Support has been running for 7 years. Before that time there was very little on offer to help rehabilitate and offer support for patients that have undergone heart surgery or suffered from a heart condition.
Salli Grant started Happy Hearts in 2010 with one class. Today with the help of enthusiastic members she runs 8 classes a week in the Salisbury/ Amesbury/Shaftesbury/Gillingham areas. In addition, Salli and members of her team, offer cardiopulmonary resuscitation, healthy living option, including talks on heart health by a BHF speaker,  as well as inspiring them to help raise funds for the BHF.

The Cathedral Locality
(consisting of Harcourt Medical Centre, Millstream Medical Centre and Salisbury Medical Practice) has launched a range of support groups for everyone in the community to attend!
Free refreshments are available, kindly donated by the Tesco Extra Community Team. It is a chance to share experiences with others in a similar situation and receive information and support from a local charity or organisation. There is no need to book, just drop in!

Rural Community Energy Fund grant to SCE

Salisbury Community Energy (SCE) is an exciting new opportunity locally. We're delighted to say we have been awarded our second Rural Community Energy Fund government grant for feasibility work, and both the solar PV and hydro projects are underway.
We are a Community Benefit Society, formed in March this year. Our purpose is to drive the uptake of renewable energy (solar PV and hydro/microhydro) in the Salisbury area. Profits go into a Community Benefit Fund, with a particular focus on flood resilience. Salisbury came within millimeters of a disastrous city centre flood in February 2015.
Renewable energy installations are paid for by a community share offer. Local investors receive a fair return. Salisbury benefits from new renewable energy, financial gain, and community projects involving everyone. Site owners gain discounted electricity.
Please complete our super-quick survey here and let us have your views.
